The new year is one of my favorite times of the year. With fresh starts, new beginnings, and goal-setting buzz, it’s super easy to motivate yourself to make changes when everyone around you is doing it too…at least for a little while.
It’s the perfect time to reflect on who you want to be, what changes you want to make in your life, and the life you want to be living in the new year. The trick is to stay motivated: how often do we start the year strong only to fall back onto old patterns? If you are anything like me, the answer is often.
So what’s to be done?
- First, take some time to reflect on the life that you want and the changes you want to make for the new year. Visualize it: Who are you? What are you doing? What qualities do you posses? What are you involved in daily? Weekly? Spend some time every week visualizing your ideal self and your ideal life. This works, trust me. You will begin acting in accordance with your visualization.
- Create a vision board with everything you want to manifest in the new year, whether that be better relationships, healthy living, greater productivity, etc. (more on vision boards later!) This will help you stay focused.
- Just do it. Seriously. Stop over-analyzing your goals and just get out there and take action.
