Daily Happiness Tip

I’m an avid lover of Gretchen Rubin, her blog The Happiness Project, and her book by the same title.

I read an interesting quote on her blog today that was worth some thought:

We must be doing something to be happy.

Ever get caught in a rut sitting on your behind doing nothing?

Yeah, I thought so. Me too.

Sometimes, when we feel down, one of the best things we can do is to just get active instead of sitting around on our behinds, surfing facebook/tumblr/twitter or watching TV.

Some ideas:

  • Exercise
  • Engage in stimulating activities: try a TedTalk, reading, or your favorite hobby.
  • Visit a friend
  • Visit your favorite coffee shop, and catch up on your favorite blogs or NPR stations.
